We are not moving because we think the grass is greener on the other side of the ocean.

I have always been able to list the things, that I love and cherish here. Since we decided to move, my list has gotten even longer, also the things were added again that I started to take for granted.

Just to name a few:

In how many other places can you turn on the faucet and have the best drinking water flowing out of it? I will miss that a lot.

Bread from our bakery…(the Husbrot is my favorite)

I eat Swiss chocolate everyday.

And who invented it? (comercial slogan for Ricola) Next to Ricola there are more great inventions coming from this little country of ours.

These Tiger house shoes generate childhood memories and the Freitag bags accompany us to work and on our shopping trips.

In the area of art I really like Indermaur’s paintings and like the fact that you find them on housewalls when you walk through the old part of town. And then there is Alberto Giacometti….

Wir ziehen nicht weg, weil wir denken, das Gras sei grüner auf der anderen Seite des Ozeans.

Schon immer konnte ich viele Dinge aufzählen, die mir hier lieb sind und ich sehr schätze. Seit dem Entscheid, für einen Moment wegzuziehen, wurde meine Liste um einiges länger, auch um die Dinge, die ich schon als selbstverständlich angeschaut habe…

Um nur einige zu nennen:

An wie vielen anderen Orten kann der Wasserhahn aufdreht werden und es fliesst das beste Trinkwasser? Das werde ich sehr vermissen.

Brot aus „unserer“ Bäckerei…(das Husbrot ist mein momentaner Favorit)

Dann esse ich jeden Tag etwas Schweizer Schokolade.

Und wer hat’s erfunden? Nebst den Ricolazückerli gibt es da noch einiges mehr:

Die Tigerfinkli (das Bild dazu ist weiter oben im englischen Teil dieses Posts) wecken Kindheitserinnerungen und die Taschen von Freitag begleiten uns zur Arbeit und zum Einkaufen…

In Sachen Kunst gefallen mir die Arbeiten von Indermaur (diese Bilder sind auch im ersten Teil des Posts) und schätze es sehr, diese beim Altstadtbummel anzutreffen. Und dann ist da noch Alberto Giacometti….
