The bed was given to us by our friends. We painted it “old violet”. I used Annie Sloan paint and am really happy with the results.

Das Bett haben wir von Freunden bekommen. Wir haben es “old violet” angemalt. Ich habe Annie Sloan Farbe benutzt und bin mit dem Resultat sehr zufrieden.

I framed the world map with cardboard that we had left from some of our furniture and then painted it green.

I sewed some stars for the ceiling and the wall.

Die Weltkarte habe ich mit Karton, den wir noch von anderen Möbeln übrig hatten, eingerahmt, dann grün angemalt.

Für die Decke und die Wand habe ich Sterne genäht.

 

The sewn stars we put up in the constellation of the little dipper and connected them with yellow yarn. We also added glow in the dark stars. They turned out to be a big hit for the kids.

Die genähten Sterne habe ich in Form vom kleinen Bären an der Decke angebracht und mit Garn verbunden. Ergänzt haben wir den Sternenhimmel mit Leuchtsternen, welche wir bekommen haben.

We had that frame still left over, the glass is missing. So we painted a piece of Cardboard green and Calum wrote on it. I love that saying: roots to grow and wings to fly. I think it really fits. To add some color to the room, we painted squares in three different shades of yellow on the wall.

Wir hatten diesen Rahmen noch übrig, das Glas fehlt. So haben wir Karton grün angemalt und Calum hat darauf geschrieben. I mag diesen Spruch: Wurzeln zum wachsen und Flügel zum fliegen. Ich finde, das passt sehr. Um ein bisschen Farbe ins Zimmer zu bringen, haben wir Quadrate in drei Gelbtönen an die Wand gemalt.

 

 

I found this chair at the Flea market, I love the colors and they go so well with the rest of the room.

Diesen Stuhl habe ich in der Brockenstube gefunden, ich mag die Farbenkombination sehr und finde, das passt sehr gut zum Rest des Zimmers.

I found the shelf also at the Flea market and painted it yellow.

Das Regal habe ich auch in der Brockenstube gefunden und dann gelb angemalt.

Calum really likes his Superman and Batman board a lot. They are both metal and look vintage.

Calum mag sein Superman- und Batmanbild sehr. Beide sind aus Metall und haben den Vintage-look.

All of our bedrooms have a wardrobes in the wall, which is great, so we didn’t have to buy any. I simple exchanged the knobs. I found them at Anthropologies. A small change with a big effect.

Alle unsere Schlafzimmer haben Wandschränke drin. Das ist super, denn so mussten wir keine kaufen. Ich habe nur die Knöpfe ausgewechselt. Gefunden habe ich sie bei Anthropologies. Eine kleine Veränderung mit grossem Effekt.

Die Spielsachen verstauen wir in Holzschachteln und Dosen…

I sewed the curtain tabs on the back, so they can’t be seen from the front. I doubled up the seam, so it also looks tidy from the outside.

Die Vorhänge habe ich so genäht, dass die Laschen von vorne nicht sichtbar sind. Damit es von aussen auch ordentlich aussieht habe ich bei den Nähten einen doppelten Saum gemacht.

Calum loves his new room. It was worth the effort.

Calum liebt sein neues Zimmer. Es hat sich gelohnt.

Now I’m working on the girls room…

Nun arbeite ich am Zimmer der Mädchen….
