Rae was given two small Play-doh containers from her aunt and uncle. The kneading and forming was fun for all three kids, so we decided to make some more, so there is plenty for all of them.

I found the recipe for it in the august 2014 issue from family fun:

1 cup flour

1/4 cup salt, whisk together

1/2 cup water

2 teaspoons lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon gel food coloring

1 tablespoon vegetable oil, combine the last four ingredients in a microwave-safe container, microwave until boiling (1-2 minutes), then (adults only) pour over the dry ingredients, stir, knead until a loose ball forms.

Store in a plastic bag or container in the fridge for up to 5 weeks.

It wasn’t easy to find the gel food coloring, in the end my friend gave me hers. She had bought them at Walmart, the only store I didn’t check for it. I think from Europe you might be able to get it over amazon…

We were really happy with the results and the color turned out great.

Rae hat von ihrer Tante und ihrem Onkel zwei kleine Dosen Play-doh bekommen. Das Kneten und Formen ist bei allen drei Kindern gut angekommen und so haben wir entschieden noch mehr Play-doh zu machen, damit es für alle reicht.

Das Rezept dafür fand ich in der August 2014 Ausgabe von family fun:

1 Tasse Mehl

1/4 Tasse Salz, miteinander vermischen

1/2 Tasse Wasser

2 Teelöffel Zitronensaft

1/2 Teelöffel Lebensmittelfarbe (gel)

1 Esslöffel Pflanzenöl, die letzten vier Zutaten in einem mikrowellenfesten Gefäss vermischen, in der Mikrowelle zum Kochen bringen (ca. 1-2 Minuten), dann (nur Erwachsene) über die trockenen Zutaten giessen, mischen, kneten bis ein lockerer Ball entsteht.

In einem Plastikgefäss oder einer Plastiktüte im Kühlschrank lagern, hält bis zu 5 Wochen.

Es war nicht einfach, die Lebensmittelfarbe (gel) zu finden. Schlussendlich hat mir eine Freundin ihre gegeben. Sie hatte sie bei Walmart gekauft, wahrscheinlich der einzige Laden, in dem ich nicht danach gesucht habe. Ich denke, dass man es von Europa aus auch über amazon beziehen kann…

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Resultat und auch mit der Farbe.
